There are four Vitamix models that are the best for blending smoothies. The affordable entry-level model is the Vitamix Turbo Blend Two Speed (the classic) and the best-selling model is the Vitamix TNC 5200. For professionals, we have the Vitamix Pro 500 and Pro 750.
The most successful and best-known health and fitness experts, authors and professional athletes prefer Vitamix.
Vitamix Turbo Blend
The Vitamix Turbo Blend Two Speed is the most cost-effective Vitamix and is referred to as the entry-level model, in contrast to the TNC 5200, Pro 500 and Pro 750. Vitamix provides a warranty period of 5- 7 years.
In addition, the Vitamix Turbo Blend does not have a continuous control of mixing speed and is instead equipped with a 1.4 with a 2.0 liter wet-cup. Vitamix Turbo Blend is available only in black color.
Customer favorite and best-selling Vitamix TNC 5200 is equipped with a dimmer control and a seven-year manufacturer’s warranty. TNC 5200 is available in four colors, a 2 liter wet-cup and in two versions with a 2.0 liter wet-cup.
Vitamix Super TNC 5200 comes with a 2.0 liter and a 0.9 liter dry-wet-cup container.
Vitamix Pro Series
The Vitamix Pro 500 and the Vitamix Pro 750 are only available in one color and that in the modern “brushed stainless steel” look that blends in almost every kitchen. The advantage of the Vitamix Pro 500 and Pro 750 compared to the Vitamix TNC 5200 is the presence of three or five predefined automatic programs for making smoothies (45 seconds), hot soups (270 seconds), and frozen desserts (60 seconds).
Pro 750 and 500 vary the speed for optimum results. These models also switch after a fixed period of time automatically, so that you can leave the room or in the meantime can rinse the blades or boards. Of course, you can carry on other activities also in Turbo Blend and the TNC 5200 during the mixing.
Smart blending is interesting for people who like it simple and do not want to control the mixing process. In my Vitamix TNC 5200, there are no time programs, because I always decide individually how long I mix a green smoothie, the timing makes sense for an identical amount and similar ingredients. If I make only half a liter of green smoothie I mix naturally shorter than when I prepare 2 liters for the whole day.
Otherwise, in Vitamix Pro 500 and the Vitamix Pro 750, a switch with pulse function installed. The pulse function is useful if you want to keep control of the texture. While chopping cabbage or other vegetables to crisp raw vegetable salads, of course mixing duration must not be too long, because you do not want a puree but a crunchy texture.
The continuous control regulates the Vitamix Pro 500 and Pro 750 in contrast to the TNC 5200. Using the turbo button, the Vitamix TNC 5200 extends the continuous control of about 1000 to 24,000 rpm and up to 37,000 revolutions per minute.
When Vitamix Pro 500 and 750 each of the Turbo mode can already be achieved by turning the knob to the maximum position. Below you will see the control panel of the three Vitamix models Turbo Blend Two Speed, TNC 5200 and Pro 500.
Design and Performance
Vitamix Turbo Blend
We start with the entry-level model, the Vitamix Turbo Blend Two Speed. The control panel of the Vitamix Turbo Blend Two Speed is very manageable!
There is only one on/off switch and on the left side, the turbo button. It lacks the controls of the infinite control. After switching to “LOW” you are already working with 20,000 rpm and when shifting to “HIGH” in the Turbo mode, it goes up to 37,000 revolutions per minute.
Now, here’s the control panel of the Vitamix TNC 5200.
As with the Vitamix Turbo Blend, we have the TNC 5200 with ON / OFF switch on right and “turbo button” on the left. The function of step less control is performed using the rotary control in the center, here you can infinitely set the speed from 1000 to 24,000 revolutions/minute. For the production of green smoothies, you should proceed as follows:
- Switch ON the Vitamix blender
- Rotate speed from level 1 to level 10
- Switch to turbo mode by toggling the switch from “VARIABLE” set to “HIGH”.
Make sure before turning out that the Vitamix is at level 1 and not at level 10, because then you save the material and can get used to the volume .
Vitamix Pro 500
Now, the control panel of the Vitamix Pro 500.
On the right, we have the START/STOP switch. Level 1 starts as the TNC 5200 and on the HIGH setting, it reaches 37,000 maximum number of revolutions/min and has three predefined programs for smoothies, frozen desserts, and hot soups. Below the metal housing, is the ON / OFF switch for the Pro 500.
On the left is the pulse button. Of course, you can set pulses in Vitamix Turbo Blend 5200 and the TNC, simply press the ON / OFF button, but a real pulse switch is naturally beautiful.
Vitamix Pro 750
And at last, we have the control panel of the Vitamix Pro 750.
It differs from the Vitamix Pro 500 in that there are two more automatic programs. The control panel is elegantly lit and that the on / off switch is not forward, but installed the side of the engine block.
And the Winner is…
Undoubtedly, the winner is Vitamix 5200. I use this blender and it’s the best buying decision I have made so far.
It has all the qualities, be it performance, speed and value for money. This smoothie blender really has got it all.
